The Pakistan army started virtually from a scratch on 14 August 1947. During these 63 years, the army has evolved into a highly motivated and modern force defending the ideological and geographical frontiers. Today, almost 66 infantry brigades, 15 armored brigades, 30 artillery brigades, eight air defense brigades, 17 army aviation squadrons, all equipped with state-of-the-art weapon systems, organized under about 19 division HQ and 9 Corps HQ's, stand alert and ready for any order for the safety of their country.
